What are Hemroids

What are Hemroids and What You Should Know About These?

Hemorrhoids are silent and common problems that can make the lives of people extremely difficult. In fact, this is a common problem for the elderly and pregnant women. In fact according to one survey, by the age of 50 years roughly half of the population will have to deal with the symptoms and problems associated with hemorrhoids including bleeding, itching and even pain during bowel movement. And according to one more data, roughly 75 percent of the population will experience this problem at some point in their lives. But what are hemroids and what should you know about this problem? Also called as piles, hemorrhoids are actually the swelling of the veins that can be found in the anus and the lower part of the rectum. In searching for the meaning and other thoughts on what are hemroids, it’s also important to pay attention to the causes. According to studies, this will happen if there’s too much straining during your bowel movement. This will also happen to pregnant women since there’s an increased pressure on the veins. Whatever the cause, it’s important to pay attention to these problems.

What are hemroids and how hemorrhoids develop?

Though there are no established studies where hemorrhoids are most noted, still there are some observations that can tell you the top areas where there are high number of reported cases. It is said that hemorrhoids are rare in many regions of Africa, Asia and the Middle East. But there are an increasing number of cases for hemorrhoids in some western countries including the United States. In fact there’s even this one article that stated that almost half of the population in the Americas will get hemorrhoids when they reach their 50s.

So what could be the main reason for this trend? One reason that is forwarded by many is the use of the sitting toilets. This observation has been validated by clinical researches and studies. Due to the sitting position during bowel movement, a person can increase his risk of developing hemorrhoids. The problem with a sitting position is that you will be forced to strain so that the bowels will be moved. As already indicated in many resources, it is the straining that will cause much of the hemorrhoid problem. This has led Dr. B. Sikirov to publish an important paper on the subject saying that straining and the sitting position help cause hemorrhoids.

What are hemroids and the pain that comes with it?

Hemorrhoids may not cost you your life, but keep in mind that the pain and inconveniences are some things that you don’t want to happen to you. Your troubles with hemorrhoids will start during your regular bowel movement. The once easy and convenient way of bowel movement can turn into a horror story as you will spend more time sitting in the toilet bowl and you will feel the pain and irritation once the stool will pass through the anus.  There will always be itching and irritation which can be problematic and the pain will be more pronounced if the inflammation will be prolapsed. The other pain is not physical but social. Surely you will find it difficult to interact with other people and do your normal routines because of the pain that you will feel every time you take a seat. Pay attention to questions on what are hemroids to find solutions that can be considered as soon as possible.
